            International System of Numeration
            In this system, the place value of a digit in a number remains the same as in Indian System but the name
            of the periods are different beyond thousands. In a numeral, going from right to left, the value of each
            place is ten times the value of the place to its right as shown:

            On comparing the Indian and International system, we find:
            Indian System            International System                 NOTE
            1 Lakh              =    100 Thousands = 100,000            In the Indian system of numeration, starting

                                                                        from the right, the first period is the ones period
            10 Lakhs            =    1 Million = 1,000,000
                                                                        consisting of three place values–ones, tens, and
                                                                        hundreds. The other periods to the left of the
            1 Crore             =    10 Millions = 10,000,000
                                                                        ones period have two place values each.
            10 Crores           =    100 Millions = 100,000,000         In the International system of numeration, all
                                                                        the periods have three place values each.
            1 Arab              =    1 Billion = 1,000,000,000
